After a good number of decades of never working out, a friend introduced me to Spartan racing. Instead of endless repetitions of pulling and pushing weights, I was instead trying to climb a rope to hit a bell, throw a spear into a target, survive through a mud-infused course up and down a mountain. It was like gamifying working out. OCR made exercise fun. And I haven't stopped since.
